Steps

  1. Add an account

Go to Accounts and choose Add account.

  2. Describe it

Give it a name, pick its kind and currency, and optionally the bank or institution.

  3. Set the starting point

Enter the opening balance and the date it applies to. Transactions after that date move the balance.

Kinds of accounts

Assets: checking, savings, cash, investment, crypto, property, vehicle and other asset. Debts: credit card, loan and other liability. Debts count against your net worth.

Investments and property

Bordity tracks these by value, not by individual stocks or prices. When the value changes, open the account and choose Update balance: Bordity records an adjustment for the difference, so the history shows when the value moved.

Archive instead of delete

Closed an account? Archive it. It leaves your lists and totals but keeps its history. Archived accounts do not count towards the plan limit.

Leave an account out of net worth

Turn off “Include in net worth” for money you track but do not own, such as an account you manage for someone else.
