Transfers between currencies

Record money moved between your own accounts, even in different currencies, without counting it as spending or income.

Steps

  1. Add a transaction

In Transactions, choose Add and pick the Transfer type.

  2. Choose both accounts

Pick the account the money left and the account it arrived in.

  3. Enter both amounts

Type the amount that left, in the first account’s currency, and the amount that arrived, in the second. Bordity shows the rate this implies.

Why not an expense and an income?

Because it is the same money. Recorded as a transfer, it moves your balances but stays out of your monthly spending and income.

Fees

If the service charged a separate fee, add it as an expense in the sending account. If the fee was taken from the amount, the difference already shows in the rate.
